Model student
by Ramiro Ferrando
A student in Grainger Library uses a chemistry model to study a lesson about Felkin-Ahn and chelation control.
Studying chemistry is always a challenge. This student has managed to take his learning experience to the next level by using a chemistry model kit. A lesson about Felkin-Ahn and chelation control certainly deserves any available help that's out there.
february krannert dance
by Isaiah Im
This photo was taken as part of a dance class I was enrolled in. The class was called Dance 100 and as part of the learning experience we were required to go in and view a dance concert.
This was personally my first time ever attending a dance concert of any sort. It was quite an unfamiliar world given the fact that it was also modern dance was a whole new experience for me. However, I thoroughly enjoyed watching this performance and am thankful that I was able to experience something like this through a class.
a professor is talking to a student
by Jenny Liu
Link gallery in the art and design building is a good place to display artworks and also a wonderful place to study and learn.
There are successful work hanging on the wall from students that we can share our artistic ideas and stories. Also, many art shows or activities will take place here to bring more people enjoy the art and let students to interact more with professors or visiting scholars. Large glass windows on two sides provides the room with enough lights, as well as bringing beautiful landscape into our views.
Imitation
by Dikshit Mahaveer Chand
Grainger Bob has been an inspiration for all the students at the university and trying to imitate him is a style of learning and also to become a great personality like him. It has been the most aspiring and inspiring statue at the university. The learning at the Grainger Library is the most visited style of getting educated.
Bright eyes and blue light
by Samuel Favour
I learned which shutter speed, aperture and ISO to use in order to best freeze the smoke and bring out more texture. Framing, and how to match the smoke with the color that the model was wearing to make the scene look more dramatic.
An afternoon like any other
by Ramiro Ferrando
Grainger Library is one of the best places to study on Campus. Even when some students just make use of their laptops, there is something in libraries that enhance the experience of studying. Books, shelves, laptops and phones. The old and the new don't compete but coexist.
a goldish sunset in Grainger library
by Ramiro Ferrando
Nowadays, most students are used to study using laptops. But libraries are still full of students. There is something unique about studying surrounded by books. Books transmit a sense of peace and beauty to a library. Regardless of technology, libraries are still THE place to be when seeking for the ideal ambience for study.
leARNING OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM WHILE INSIDE THE CLASSROOM
by Irina Valenzuala
Studying for our courses may require to spend a lot of time sitting in front of our computers. However, a natural and beautiful view may be good for our mood, and even if we are struggling with a difficult homework or problem, we can take a nice visual rest.
Powering change
by Peter Davis
Students are often told that there is more to learn outside the classroom, yet it seems paradoxical when this outside learning takes place within a literal classroom.
This image captures debaters of the Speech & Debate Team of UIUC prepping cases for practice debate rounds. I like how this candid photo catches the students in thought, especially since this was taken outside of standard school day hours. The debaters clearly work to educate themselves about the topic presented to them and to educate others about knowledge they already carry from their different major backgrounds. Though they are in a classroom setting where a professor would typically lead, the students educate and lead themselves instead during the after-hours in order to present coherent arguments related to current events. Learning metaphorically extends beyond the classroom walls this way.
