Canvas

Our campus is in the process of moving to Canvas as our primary LMS. Compass2G will no longer be available after Spring 2022. With the launch of Canvas, the long-term goal is to improve the student experience. Read more about the more to Canvas here.

Zoom

Zoom unifies cloud video conferencing, simple online meetings, and cross platform group chat into one easy-to-use platform. 

Illinois Mediaspace

Illinois MediaSpace is a campus tool to provide all Illinois users a place to host and distribute their media. This service is available to all users and provides a YouTube-like interface.

Online Publishing and ePortfolio Tools

eTEXT

eText delivers textbooks and other classroom materials with multimedia, notes, and assignments embedded directly in context. Instructors can add original or existing materials easily, and students can save 40-75% versus traditional books.

CPANEL

cPanel gives you several ways to create and manage websites through a web interface. Creating and hosting your website at web.illinois.edu offers a great deal of flexibility with less complexity than managing an entire web server.

Publish (PIE)

Publish.illinois.edu is a WordPress-based blogging and publishing platform that allows students, faculty, and staff to quickly create and publish online content.

Illinois Wiki

The Illinois Wiki is a powerful tool for collaborating and sharing information.

Digication

Digication is the campus-supported eportfolio tools integrated into both Compass2G and Moodle.

Creativity and Productivity Suites

Adobe Creative Cloud

Creative Cloud is a collection of 20+ desktop and mobile apps and services available for free download to all faculty, students and staff.

Microsoft 365

Office 365 is a line of subscription services offered by Microsoft as part of the Microsoft Office product line.

Google Apps

An integrated suite of secure, cloud-native collaboration and productivity apps powered by Google AI. Includes Gmail, Docs, Drive, Calendar, Teams and more.

Specialized Tools

Campuswire

FERPA compliant discussion board and communication tool for courses. Professors can use Campuswire to consolidate communication to replace forums, chat apps, and student response systems.

Online Proctoring

The campus currently has two remote proctoring services available - Proctorio and ProctorU. Read more about both options here.

Safe Assign

SafeAssign is a plagiarism-detection tool that is integrated within Compass2g.

Echo360

Lecture capture recording system used by the Colleges of Veterinary Medicine and Engineering and in select classrooms across campus.

Gradescope

Designed to streamline and standardize paper-based, digital, and code assignments. It supports problem sets and projects as well as worksheets, quizzes, exams, and papers. 

Class transcribe

Improve your learning outcomes as a university student, and watch lectures with equitable access and support for non-native speaking students
